In this intense, hands-on class, the student will learn the basic techniques to open mechanical combination locks by drilling. Students will use both straight and angle drilling. If time permits, students will drill for the relock trigger (RLT), the lever screw, and receive instruction on drill and transfer techniques. Measurements for many of the combination locks found on today’s containers will be provided. Drilling techniques for hardplate and other barrier materials will also be discussed. Eye protection is a must, and students should also bring a penlight or scope, drill motor, several sharp 1/8” and ¼” drill bits, 25’ extension cord, end or diagonal cutters, vice grips, assorted Phillips and slotted screwdrivers, pencil and paper. NJ Locksmiths who check the appropriate box on the registration form and include the additional $20.00 will receive a 7.5 CEU certificate for their 2019 NJ State Locksmith License renewal. Students must bring their NJ State License to class to receive their CEUs.
A GPLA certificate suitable for framing will be awarded to each student.
